Neuromuscular & Deep Tissue Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) and Deep Tissue Therapy is a form of bodywork that is designed for more focused sustained soft tissue work. Neuromuscular Therapy is utilized to reduce trigger points, scar tissue, fascial adhesions and restrictions, and to improve mobility and increase stability. Working a specific muscle or muscle group, the practitioner can access deeper layers of the soft tissue. Modalities such as Contemporary Cupping Therapy, Guasha, NMT-Bar Compression and Trigger Point Therapy may be utilized. Deep Tissue Therapy is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries as well as increasing blood flow. Myofascial Release, a form of deep tissue therapy used to treat areas of physical tenderness and limited range of motion may be utilized during this therapy. Myofascial release is a highly specialized and advanced soft tissue manipulation technique that releases and mobilizes the connective tissue or fascia that encompasses the body’s structure through the application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system. It is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical pain, back pain, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, restricted range of motion, and headaches to name a few. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure the pressure is not applied too deeply or too quickly. As a result, the muscle may tighten to protect that area and unnecessary damage or inflammation can be induced.
